Tamworth – FEB 27
Mareeba-born country music artist Jade Holland is making an impressive name for herself across Australia hitting number 12 on the Australian Country Music Airplay charts after a successful week at the 2016 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The ambitious singer-songwriter – whose single ‘Leather & Les Paul’ debuted at number 25 on the Australian Country Music Airplay Charts just last week, said a strong presence in Tamworth helped the single beat out established artists such as Lee Kernaghan and Caitlyn Shadbolt, rising 13 places in its second week on the chart.
“I was on my way home from Tamworth when I heard that Leather & Les Paul had made it to number 12 on the charts – and that was just the cherry on top of an amazing week,” Holland said.
“I did a hell of a lot of networking while I was in Tamworth – and did a lot of radio interviews, and my thanks go out to the announcers playing it and the listeners calling it through as a request – that’s what boosts it up the chart.
“I’m really proud of myself, it was a case of going above and beyond what I’ve done in Tamworth in previous years – my presence there always determines how well my year will go and after a lot of hard work, this year will definitely be a busy one.
“Now it’s a matter of keeping the momentum going. I’m heading out to play shows in Mount Isa and Cloncurry in February, followed by a huge show in Townsville with the entire Jade Holland Band on Friday, February 26. We’re all really excited for it!”
